OUR MISSION

You: Have an amazing idea for a new piece or a new show, but don’t have enough resources to make it happen.

We: Work alongside you to determine exactly what resources are most critical, and support you administratively to acquire those resources in collaboration. 

You: Need a mentor, another set of eyes, an advisor, or a friend who understands your art.

We: Listen to what you’re looking for and help match with you a DMV Dance mentor or peer. 

You: Know exactly what you’re looking for or what you need, but don’t know who to ask.

We: Activate the DMV Dance network to help find the answer or illuminate the path.

You: Feel like you’re slogging, going it alone, trying to make your art happen in the DMV.

We: Build connections between artists and venues, studios, and other organizations that can help you reach your goals and achieve your vision.

• We believe dance artists in the DMV should be able to make a professional living from their art, and we strive to be part of making that possible.

• We believe our dance community is strongest when people share their knowledge and expertise, and when we work together to support and uplift each other every way we know. 

• We strive to be a central hub - a connector where artists can come with questions and needs and leave with answers and resources.

• We celebrate artists for their art, but also uplift and value their skills, experiences, and relationships.

• A rising tide lifts all boats. The more the merrier. Pay it forward. Teach a man to fish. All that jazz.
