About ME

Live Your Dream.

I am a graduate of DCHS ('00) and the University of Tennessee at Martin ('04) where I majored in Family and Consumer Science Education.  I worked as a 4-H Youth Development Agent in Cheatham County for three years before deciding to give classroom teaching a try in the fall of 2007.  After spending one year at Hickman County High School I came HOME to DCHS in the fall of 2008.  I received my Master of Education Degree in Career and Technical Education Leadership from Concordia University in the summer of 2016.

I have taught many classes, including Family and Consumer Science, Textiles and Clothing, Housing and Interior Design, Family Studies, Child Development, and more!  I have found my passion working with students who are interested in exploring careers in the Education and Training field.  Future educators inspire me with their passion, creativity, and desire to make a difference in the world.  I am also one of the the Work-Based Learning Coordinators for all of our Career and Technical Education programs  at DCHS.  It is so rewarding to help students find internships that allow them to make real-world, practical application of the concepts they have learned at our school while also networking with local businesses and professionals who can help them get a head start on their post-secondary goals.

My goal as a teacher is to prepare my students to be responsible, respectful, productive, and contributing members of our society.  I want to help my students determine what their dreams and aspirations are and create a plan of action that will allow them to reach those goals.
