The Dassel Cokato Wrestling Booster Club is proud to announce the hiring of three youth coaches for the 2019-2020 season.

Kip Lynk – Head Youth Coach

Kip grew up in Eden Prairie, MN where he was a state placewinner for the Eagles and then continued his wrestling career at the University of Minnesota – Morris where he competed all four years. His coaching career started at U of M-Morris as a student asst coach for one season. He took a teaching job at GSL and was an asst coach for the Panthers for one season. He came to Dassel Cokato as a 5th grade teacher in 1999 and was on staff as an asst coach and then the head coach from 2001-2005. In that time, he tallied an 85-14 dual meet record and coached over a dozen state entrants for the Chargers. Since then he has been an elementary principal for BOLD, Eden Prairie, and Sartell school districts and currently is working for Southwest/West Central Service Cooperative as an education specialist providing training for elementary and secondary principals.

Ryan Weinandt – Asst Coach

Ryan grew up in Wabasha Kellogg where he was a state finalist in 2000. He continued his athletic career at St. John’s University where he was an All-American defensive lineman for John Gagliardi and was on the 2003 DIII National Championship football team. He also competed for St. John’s University as a HWT wrestler for the Johnny’s. In 2004 he was a hired as an elementary teacher and the head football coach for Dassel Cokato. For over 9 years Ryan was a Junior High and Asst Varsity wrestling coach for the Chargers. He has been named DC Coach of the year two times in his 16-year career with Dassel Cokato schools. Ryan is currently the dean of students at Dassel Cokato Middle School. Ryan was a part of our K-1 Youth Wrestling Coaching staff last seaon.

Prestin Bradley – Asst Coach

Prestin grew up in the Dassel Cokato school district and has been a mainstay in our youth wrestling program since he was little. Prestin just completed an outstanding career for the Chargers going 150-32 which ranks #3 all time in DC history. He was a 4x state entrant and 2x state placewinner taking 4th and 5th in his career. He was a 5x letterwinner and 4x All Conference wrestler for the Chargers. In his senior year he was also a member of the Dassel Cokato Track and Field team. Prestin is currently working for Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors as a Union Sheet Metal Worker.

Congrats to Jude Link on winning the MN /USA Triple Crown with a state title in MN/USA Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco Roman!

Congrats to alumni Brody Schmidt for winning the inaugural Jacob 5 K in memory of Jacob MacDonald. Current DCHS athlete Kaden Schmidt was 2nd overall.
