Year 11

Welcome to St Paul's Catholic College

Respect. Responsibility. Reverence. Resilience. Results.

"Lent is not a forty day fast, or even a precursor to the paschal mystery of Easter. It is a time to reassess and realign; to become more fully the person that, from all time, our God has called us to be. "

Mr Michael Reid

College Principal

B.Ed (Humanities). M. Rel.Ed.  M. Ed.Lead.

 STUDENT LEADERS 2023

"I want to stress the importance of healthy competition. Competition between your peers, especially during the assessment period, can be one of the best motivators. For example, competing with Ryan for that top spot in maths and physics really pushed me and compelled me to keep studying. So, I urge you, to build a competitive environment with your peers and this doesn’t mean to sabotage them or anything, but to push each other to achieve your best marks possible."

Callum Brannon

Callum Brannon placed equal first with Ryan Hughes in Mathematics Extension 2, whilst also excelling in English and Studies of Religion. Callum's ATAR rank of 99.30 has earned him a place at the University of New South Wales studying for a double degree in Mathematics and Economics as well as DUX of the College.

Throughout the year 'St Paul's Community' is involved in many acts of Compassion and supports social justice . Below are some of the programs

As the international aid and development agency of the Australian Catholic Church, Caritas is driven by social justice and the dignity of every person. Caritas work with local communities in Australia and overseas, listening to concerns, assessing needs and working with partners on locally-led development programs. With hope, support and compassion at the core of what they do, they work towards a world where all people may thrive.

Working together for justice and dignity.

Walking together in hope.

Building together a thriving future for all.

Walk with us towards a world of hope.

Compassionate people know what it's like to be down on their luck, and they keep those experiences in mind to develop a more empathetic nature, whether through volunteering or just simply networking. "Compassionate people are very outward-focused because they think and feel about other people," Firestone says. "They have that ability to feel others' feelings, so they're very socially connected."

Shrove Tuesday / Pancake Day

Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The name Shrove comes from the old middle English word 'Shriven' meaning to go to confession to say sorry for the wrong things you've done. Lent always starts on a Wednesday, so people went to confessions on the day before. This became known as Shriven Tuesday and then Shrove Tuesday.

THE SCIENCE  of Handwashing. Watch video

Your hands, up close, are anything but smooth. With peaks and valleys, folds and rifts, there are plenty of hiding places for a virus to stick.  If you then touch your face, the virus can infect you. But there are two extraordinarily simple ways you can keep that from happening: soap and water, and hand sanitizer.

So which is better?
