Early Life
There was quite a discussion of who the best cricket player is or was. Undoubtedly this had to be the Don. Donald George Bradman was born on the 27th of February, 1908 in the small rural town of Cootamundra NSW which is south west of Sydney. Though he was born in Cootamundra he is commonly referred to the boy from Bowral because he grew up in the small town. He attended the bowral public school, then attending the Bowral high school. He left school in 1922 and worked for a real estate agent who gave him time off to play sports. Bradman gave up cricket for tennis for 2 years then resumed playing the game.
Bradman started playing cricket for Australia in 1927 and quickly rose to the best batsman in the world with an average of 99.94. to compare with steve smith, who average is 61.8 you can see that Don Bradman was way better and more skilled then todays players. no batsman has ever come close to this miiestone. He became captain in 1935 for South Australia and eventually retired in 1949
