Founded by Justin and Kristin MacDonald in 2010, Reaver Beach Brewing Co. is Virginia Beach's oldest craft brewery. Starting on a tiny, half-barrel system in 2010, we quickly scaled up with a used, 5 barrel system purchased from a brewery in New Hampshire and brewed all we could for the next four years.
With a change in Virginia's laws in 2012, sales of pints in brewery taprooms were legalized. Finding we were unable to satisfy the growing demand for our beer, we planned and executed a move to a new facility in 2014, just one block from our original location. With this move came a brand new, 15 barrel brewhouse, along with 30 barrel fermenters and a significantly larger taproom space. We've been brewing there ever since.
Specializing in IPAs, lagers, and barrel-aged sours, we're dedicated to the craft of producing high quality beer with high quality ingredients. We believe that diligence, patience, and a quality-first philosophy are what make any brewery great, and strive to uphold those ideals every day.
