At the elementary level, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is the key framework of the Leader in Me process. The 7 Habits help students learn and apply communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional skills.  Additionally, the 7 Habits give students, families, and staff members a common language and are essential in building a strong leadership culture at our school.

Students in grades PreK-5 are introduced to and begin to explore the 7 Habits, with much time spent on developing students as Independent Learners/Leaders on the Leader in Me Portrait. The focus at our building is learning about The Leader in Me & Others. The Leader in Me is new to students in these buildings, so a strong emphasis is placed on learning the habits, understanding the habits, and beginning to apply the habits in and out of school.
