Hi! My name is Holly Samuels and I'm so happy to be teaching 4th grade. The 25-26 school year will be my 14th year teaching and my 2nd year at Shady Grove. I have primarily taught grades 4-5 grades and I still can't decide which one is my favorite! I received my B.S degree in Elementary Education from UNCG.
When I'm not teaching, I'm enjoying my time with my husband and three sons. We love to travel, spend time outdoors, and experience life together!
I am excited about working with a wonderful team of teachers and at the best elementary school in Davie County. I look forward to a great year!

Hi! My name is Keri Sankey and I will be teaching 4th grade Math & Science this 25-26 school year! I am originally from Speedway, Indiana (think Indy 500!) but moved to NC after completing my college degree in 2011. I taught 3rd & 4th grade in Burlington before moving to the Winston-Salem area, where I taught 2nd grade at the Arts Based School for 4 years. My family then moved back to Indiana for 5 years, where I taught 4th grade Math & Science for a year, as well as 2nd grade at a public school for the remaining 4 years! My husband and I have two children, a 4th grader and a kindergartener. I am excited to be rooted in Davie County, and to be back in the upper elementary grades. Math/Science truly is my passion!
When I'm not teaching, I'm enjoying my time with my husband, daughter, and son. We love to explore new places, hike in the mountains, and play at the beach!
I am excited about our wonderful 4th grade team, and I can't wait to have another phenomenal year with your 4th grader!

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Chowan University. This is my first year teaching fourth grade but have been teaching for four years this year. I previously taught fifth grade for two years and second grade for one year. I have previously taught reading in fifth grade but I have come to truly LOVE teaching math!
In my time when I am not teaching I love to hang out with my husband, Austin and my son, Westin! I also love to binge watch some of my favorite shows, go on walks with my family and read a good book with my dog, Riley! I am so excited to be in fourth grade at Shady Grove with my amazing team!
Mrs. Parrish
My name is Jessie Parrish, and I love teaching fourth grade! I attended the University of North Carolina - Wilmington, where I majored in elementary education and minored in psychology. This will be my 17th year of teaching. Over the years, I have spent most of my time teaching fourth grade. I have also taught first, third, and fifth. My passion is reading. I love to see the spark in the kids eyes when they learn something new! In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two little boys. I love to travel, cook, and garden. I am so excited to begin another year here at Shady Grove!
