6:00 pm- 8:30 pm

On the campus of Davidson College

Come explore the wonders of astronomy and the night sky with your family and friends by joining us for a Star Party at Davidson College!  As always, our events are FREE and open to the public!

The event will begin with interactive exhibits and games led by the College’s astronomy class in the Blanche Knox Parker Esplanade between the Dana and Watson science buildings from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.  The exhibits will be followed by nighttime stargazing on the campus lawn from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.  Feel free to stay for the entire event or spend just a short time exploring the exhibits or taking a tour of the night sky.

In the case of inlement weather, the exhibits and activities will be moved to the Lilly Family Gallery in the Chambers building.  Due to the nature of astronomy, the stargazing session can only be held if the skies are clear.  Updates to the event locations and/or schedule due to weather can be found below.  Please check back here before coming to the event if the weather is questionable.
