Softball

To all the 8th grade families, I would like to introduce myself and welcome you to the Davenport Central Softball Program.  My name is Destiny Van Hecke, and I have coached at Central as an assistant coach for five years. This upcoming season will be my second year as the Head Softball Coach!  I am also a second-year teacher in our district.

We did a lot of great things within our program last year and as 8th graders we invite you to come and join our growing program!  We will be starting open gyms in January when we get back from Winter break, which I encourage you all to attend.  We do have a Facebook page where you can join and follow- Davenport Central Blue Devils Softball. I do post information on there that may be of interest to you all.  When the gym open times are set, I will also make sure it is sent home in your school's eblast.

The softball season officially begins the first week of May with our try-outs. We typically run 3 days of try-outs and then coaches meet to determine what the JV and Varsity teams will look like.  Games usually begin at the end of May and run through the middle of July.
