Every year, Blue Devil Productions provides the opportunity for students other than members of the drama department at Central to participate in a production through Blue Devil Productions. Most often the productions are medium to large cast plays or, occasionally, small cast musicals. The rehearsal process for this production is typically similar or shorter than that of the musical and takes place between Thespian season (Fall) and musical season (Spring). The Mainstage is chosen and announced by the director of Blue Devil Productions.
The drama club presents a one act play in the winter that is 100% ran by students.
It is directed by a student and the design of the show is done by the club.
The rehearsals take place after school and work around all extracurricular activities
The annual musical at Central is not solely produced by members of Blue Devil Productions, it is an open casting call to the entire student body. This allows non-active students to become involved in theatre at Central. The musical process takes place in the spring with auditions in late winter and opening night in late April.
The duration of the rehearsal process can vary, with commitment to 3 to 4 days a week for 8 to 10 weeks depending on the show.
