The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is one of the largest character development and citizenship programs for youth in the world. JROTC curriculum provides equitable and challenging academic content and authentic learning experiences for all Cadets. It includes lessons in leadership, health and wellness, physical fitness, first-aid, geography, American history and government, communications and emotional intelligence.
Arguably, JROTC is one of the most successful and significantly impactful youth-oriented programs in America and is the ONLY secondary education elective class focused on Leader Development. We run a military-structured classroom with Student-Leaders in charge of most day-to-day activities.
Davenport Central High School students earn both their Physical Education requirement for the year, as well as an additional elective credit for each semester of JROTC. For more information, please visit https://www.usarmyjrotc.com.
Students in JROTC can also choose to participate in the following teams, all of which compete throughout the Midwest:
Raider (Adventure Team)
Marksmanship Team
Color Guard Team
Drill Team
