It’s time for our annual Read-a-Thon! The Blue Grass PTA will be running our annual Read-a-Thon from Sunday, February 22nd through Sunday, March 8th, coinciding with Read Across America week at the beginning of March!
Joining in the fun is simple! Scan the QR code on the flyer and this will take you to our Cheddar Up Read-A-Thon homepage where you can create your own personal dashboard to log minutes for your student!
Creating an account and participating in the Read-a-thon is free. You are not obligated to donate to your child’s account and you aren’t required to send anything out to ask for donations. However, if you choose to, proceeds come right back to our PTA. This is a great fundraiser for all the family and friends who live far away and can’t buy the items we sell throughout the year.
Our main goal is to get our Wildcats reading. Funds earned are an added bonus. Students are eligible to participate whether they get donations or not.
Students can read what they want, when they want. Progress is measured in minutes not numbers of pages or books.
Prizes will be awarded to our top readers! Grab a blanket and snuggle up with a good book!
Intramurals are offered for students in grades 4 and 5. Wednesdays 8:10-8:50 for grade 4 and Thursdays 8:10-8:50 for grade 5. Please do not drop off students before 8:10 as there is no supervision for them.

We are excited to announce another opportunity for the female athletes in 1st-8th grade.
West Scott Softball registration is now open!
West Scott Softball's mission is to unite our communities under one recreational feeder softball program that builds talent, pride, and friendships across town lines.
Just like Jr Panther Programs, with help from the Davenport Community School District and local coaches, West Scott Softball will be combining talent and resources from our area and supplying our local athletes with an incredible new opportunity to build their athletic skills and be able to participate in a local league!
West Scott is working with local coaches and the athletic departments from West High School, Walcott, Smart and Williams Middle Schools, and area leaders from Buffalo, Blue Grass, Walcott and West Davenport to provide camps, clinics and an all new league for softball athletes.
"Where hometown pride meets teamwork" = a new approach to town ball, but with the same feel! By partnering with the DCSD and sponsors, we can unlock more resources and keep the cost for our families low, but provide more!
-More team building
-More camps,clinics and practices
-More skills unlocked
-More participation
-More athlete retention
-More coaching collaboration
-More friendships
-MORE FUN!!!
