Saturday October 31st = Trick Or Treat in Blue Grass 5-7PM

Midwest Mixes- extended until 10-26-26

The PTA will be selling Midwest Mixes. Orders will arrive before Thanksgiving and each product is $6. Fundraisers like this are essential to helping the PTA make the large purchases that benefit our school and students. This year is all about TEAMWORK. Prizes will be awarded to classrooms with the most participation (the highest number of students selling mixes and the most total sales).

Trunk or Treat

The PTA will be hosting  Trunk or Treat in the school parking lot on October 30th 5:30-7pm. There will be a Halloween movie on the blacktop starting at 7:30pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

Hunger Drive, Halloween Parties, and Parade 

Blue Grass Elementary School will be collecting donations for the Student Hunger Drive the Week of 

October 26th-October 30th

• What can you donate?

• Canned goods (i.e. fruit, meat, tuna, soups, chili, stews)

• Peanut Butter

• Cereal

• Where do you take the cans to donate?

• Your child’s classroom

• What if I rather donate money?

• There will be a canister in the Blue Grass Office for monetary donations

Blue Grass Fall Parties & Parade Friday, October 30, 2026 

Our students are able to participate in FALL PARTIES & A SCHOOL WIDE PARADE THIS YEAR. Students will be allowed to wear costumes to school and bring in treats to school on Friday, October 30th. It is a 2-hour early out day, so please note the schedule below. Families are welcome to watch our school parade in the front parking lot on this day at 1:05pm. They will get to see all of our wonderful students in their costumes. Our students will then head back into the building for their classroom Fall Parties following (around 1:15pm). If the weather is cold or raining the parade will be inside the hallways of the school. Families are welcome to attend and come into the building after the parade for classroom parties. Dismissal that day will be at 2:00pm. Some information about costumes: ● Costumes can be worn to and from school on October 30th ● Please wear school appropriate shoes for recess ● No face paint or anything inappropriate for an elementary student to see ● No fake weapons ● Any questions on costumes should be asked prior to this date for clarification to Mrs. Gott at gottsa@davenportschools.org 

Send your friend a Turkey Gram!

The Blue Grass Youth Leadership Team will be selling Turkey Grams for $1.00 on November 17th  (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade) and November 18th (3rd-5th Grade) in the morning in front of the cafeteria. Each Turkey Gram will come with a Sticky Turkey on a string.

Not for children under 3 years.

Our Youth Leadership Team will deliver them on November 24th.

Proceeds will go towards our YLT goals for this year!

Please consider signing up to volunteer for your school! The required paperwork can be found at https://dcsdvolunteers.quickapp.pro/. Approved volunteers can assist within the building and on study trips to community locations for 3 years before needing to reapply.

Please consider signing up to be a Junior Achievement Volunteer! Junior Achievement aims to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
