This project involved early-stage planning for the San Francisco Transbay Terminal as part of a larger team of consultants focused on urban planning, landscape architecture, and sustainable design.
Contributions included helping to assemble interdisciplinary teams with established relationships in the Bay Area, providing expertise in urban design and participatory land use planning, and developing planning frameworks and development scenarios.

The process involved collaboration with city agencies, community stakeholders, and developers, and researching and explaining the complex urban and environmental issues during the initial planning phases of this massive development (now built), which includes:
New five-level, three-city block long terminal building
New elevated bus viaducts leading to the Bay Bridge
Temporary and permanent bus terminal and storage facilities
Retail, entertainment, conference, educational and cultural space
Rooftop park, ground floor plazas, and improved alleyway and sidewalk system
Space below for a future High Speed Rail station
Brian Jennett played a support role in master planning and programming for this broader study while employed as a Senior Consultant at HOK. He had earlier been on a team at SOM that had done district planning for the neighborhood around the future station.
