Dean of the College Welcome Transcript

Hello. I’m Kathryn Lively, Dean of the College. Every year during the week before Commencement, we gather to honor a select group of students who have had a profound impact on our community during their time at Dartmouth. This year, we celebrate changemakers, gamechangers, and transformers whose character and commitment to the campus community reflect the very best of who we are.

You will hear about their passion, determination, intellectual engagement, talent, empathy, creativity, and bravery – from the faculty and staff who know them best. While we all wish we could be together here on campus to express our gratitude for their contributions, we are here together in this virtual world, united in support of their achievements, their goals and the positive impact each will have on the communities of which they are a part as they move forward.

We also want to express our gratitude to families, supporters, friends, staff, and faculty – for all you have done to support and honor their efforts. And finally, to the students we honor, we are deeply, deeply grateful for who you are and all you have done. Thank you, and congratulations!
