S. C. State Standards

7th Grade Science Standards

The Seventh Grade Science curriculum engages students in critical thinking and solving problems as scientists and engineers do to help them understand how relevant science is to their lives. The learning experiences are created around the three major dimensions of science: Science and engineering practices (SEP’s), Crosscutting concepts (CCCs), and disciplinary core ideas (DCIs). The standards represent the performance expectations for the end of instruction. Instructional decisions incorporate additional science and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts that align to the student’s needs and support the learning that leads to the end of the instructional goal.
