Grade 7 Mathematics
Grade 7 Mathematics is aligned with current Grade 7 Connecticut Core Standards. The major focus of Grade 7 Mathematics includes analyzing proportional relationships and performing operations with rational numbers. Students will focus on extending previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply and divide rational numbers. They will use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions and will solve problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations. Students will also further their understanding of geometric shapes by finding the area, perimeter and volume of figures. Seventh grade students work on developing their reasoning, problem solving, and computation skills and knowledge for both mathematics and real world problems. Our assessments include a variety of quizzes, weekly challenges, tests, projects, homework and/or class participation.
