Danville Independent School District:

COVID-19 Plans

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Danville Independent Schools Board of Education voted to approve the Non Traditional Instruction (NTI) application in accordance with KRS 158.070. Under this plan, the Commissioner of Education can waive up to 10 NTI days to count towards student attendance days. Currently, in the House there is a bill to add 10 additional days for a total of 20 NTI days.

NTI is a program that encourages the continuation of academic instruction on days when school would otherwise be cancelled. Our staff has created plans to deliver instruction to every student in the district and provide for student and teacher interaction on NTI days, with the ultimate goal of continuing instruction. Parents and students have the ability to contact teachers through email and phone during normal school hours.

Starting March 13th, school will not be in session. NTI instruction will begin Monday, March 16th. Many events have already been canceled, but going forward, all extracurricular activities, including athletics, will be cancelled until further notice. All buildings and outdoor facilities will be closed as of March 12th at 5p.m.

Our cafeteria will continue to provide meals in a similar style to our Summer Feeding Program. Food Service information is available under the Food Service tab on this site.

We are taking these measures in accordance with the guidelines put out by the Boyle County Health Department and the Center for Disease Control. These precautions are taken out of an abundance of caution and to help control the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

If you have additional questions, please reach out to your school or the central office. We will continue to update this website and social media as the situation progresses.
