Essential:

• UK Qualified Teacher status (QTS)

• Evidence of professional development/ teacher training course

• Drive and a determination to ensure all children reach their potential whilst in our setting

• Recent teaching experience in a school (includes training placements)

• Understanding of what constitutes quality and high standards in learning and teaching

• Understanding of what constitutes appropriate and successful relationships with children

• Ability to achieve and sustain high standards

• High expectations

• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection methods and responsibilities

• Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children

• Ability to work well within and contribute to team development

• Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences including pupils, staff, colleagues and parents

• Ability to create a positive and supportive and effective learning environment

• Effective behavioural management skills

• Passionate about learning, teaching and assessment

• Ability to communicate well with pupils, staff , colleagues and parents

• Has sensitivity and tact

• Evidence of participation in professional development or study

• Enthusiastic in a specialist field with willingness to lead a subject at primary (following ECT induction)
