Dancer Check-In Process
Dressing rooms will be as follows: Instructors in Dressing Room A, Teen/Company in Dressing Room B, 12&under dancers in Dressing Room C, and Adults in Dressing Room D.
Parent who is dropping off the dancer will bring them to the backstage hallway (to the left of the auditorium entrance) no later than 1:00pm
This parent will receive a colored wristband (see below)
The same person that drops off the dancer must be the one to pick up the dancer at the end of the show and must have the labelled wristband for their dancer
Dancer Check Out Process
Parents will need to check out their child at the dressing room after the show. For the safety of your children, we will not be allowing dancers to be picked up directly off the stage or without being checked out.
We will close the curtain for safety and all students will be escorted to their dressing rooms.
Proceed to the dressing room to check out your dancer. The parent who dropped them off must be the same one to pick them up and must have the wristband they were given at check in
After check out, you will be able to take your dancer to the lobby for pictures
Armband colors will be based on age (2-6 years: Yellow / 7-9 years: Red)
Backstage Process
Below you will get the exact lay out of how the backstage process will run to give you piece of mind that your dancer will be safe and will know where to go throughout the time they are backstage.
We have hired 4 students to be in charge of the dancers in the main dressing room. As well as our Teen Company Members and our Instructors, these students will be in charge of keeping the kids safe and quiet in the dressing room and make sure all students make it onstage for their routines.
Backstage Process from Start to Finish
Dancers will wait in their dressing room until 3 numbers prior to their routine
Student Helper #1 will be in charge of gathering students in the main dressing room and helping with changes
Student Helper #2 will call students to line up in the dressing room 3 numbers before their routine hits the stage. This helper will count the students and make sure everyone is accounted for.
Student Helper #3 will walk students from the dressing room to line up in the hallway leading backstage. This student will wait with this group until they are called backstage and will walk students back to the dressing room.
Student Helper #4 will escort students backstage to wait with their instructor before hitting the stage. They will also gather each group once they exit the stage and make sure they are set up to walk back with student helper #3.
Dancers will then wait in the dressing room where we will have crafts and activities for the dancers when they are not on stage.
Quick Changes: We will have a quick change area available in the Teen Dressing Room. Instructors and Company Members will be notified if there is a change that has less than 3 numbers in between. They will help the student change into their next costume and they will meet their class in the back hallway.
