Pembroke Elementary School is an inclusive school located in the beautiful Pembroke area of Danbury. We have approximately 350 culturally-diverse students who benefit from differentiated learning in all subject areas. Students enjoy rigorous fine arts and physical education programs. Together with our families, we support each other in demonstrating these critical character traits: Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Cooperation, Integrity and Fairness. Fourth and Fifth grade student leaders are active in the school as well. We stand by our mission to provide a safe and caring school which inspires and empowers a community of problem-solvers and lifelong learners.

Dear Pembroke Families,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year! We are about to embark on another outstanding year of learning and growth at Pembroke Elementary. Our literacy model includes Readers and Writers Workshop along with consistent and intensive foundational skill work. Our math program, Investigations, provides the main component of our math model while we supplement with other resources to meet the demands of our math curriculum. While our science curriculum is under construction, we continue to implement core science standards along with rigorous refinements. As these core subjects demand the majority of our schedule, we thoughtfully integrate social studies into literacy. We have so much work to do in a school year and every year builds upon the prior! Your child's attendance at school is critical. So PLEASE be sure your child's attendance is excellent!

We will continue to work tirelessly around our mission: Pembroke is a safe and caring school, which inspires and empowers a community of problem-solvers and lifelong learners. We work together for the academic success and personal achievement of all.

We have the best students, the best staff and the best parents! I invite you all to partner with us here at Pembroke. Please engage in our many activities and events throughout the year to support your child and to ensure their academic and personal success. Join our PTO to further support and advance our mission!

I feel truly blessed and honored to serve Pembroke. If I can be of any assistance, please contact me or stop by!

With Panther Pride,

Dr. Sharon Epple
