The entertainment world is mourning the death of actor Matthew Perry, best known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom Friends. Perry passed away on Thursday, January 14th at the age of 52.
Perry had an extraordinary career spanning decades. He first found fame in the early 1990s in the sitcom ‘Second Chance’ and followed up with a memorable turn as the sarcastic and endearing Chandler Bing in Friends. He also appeared in several movies including ‘Fools Rush In’ and ‘The Whole Nine Yards’. The actor was also a philanthropist and mental health advocate. He founded the Perry House charity, which is dedicated to helping those affected by addiction and mental health issues.
Perry is survived by his parents, Suzanne and John Bennett Perry, and his stepfather, Steve Perry. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Lauren Levy. The entertainment community has been paying tribute to the late actor since news of his death broke. Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow said, “I’m devastated. He was a beloved member of our family and an incredible friend.” The world has lost a beloved actor, a philanthropist, and a mental health advocate. Matthew Perry will be remembered for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on Friends and for his tireless advocacy for those affected by addiction and mental health issues. He will be deeply missed.
