Our Damien community is surrounded by different places to visit and enjoy. Whether driving or walking, you see a clothing shop or a delicious restaurant. One of the most popular community businesses is Rainbows Drive-In. The most popular item on the menu is the Mixed plate which has BBQ Beef, Boneless Chicken and Mahi Mahi, Loco Moco plate, and Chili Plate. Another popular spot to enjoy is Golden City across the street. Some of the famous dishes are Crispy fried chicken, Sweet and Sour spare ribs, Roast pork, Fried rice, and Broccoli Chow Mein. One more community business that you will enjoy is Helena’s Hawaiian Food. Helena’s most popular dishes are Poi, Lomi Salmon, Chicken Long Rice, and Kalua Pig with Cabbage.

When Mr. Chambers was interviewed about his favorite places to visit around the Damien community. He loves and craves Helena’s Hawaiian food. Helena's Hawaiian Food has been serving the local community quality Hawaiian cuisine for more than over the past 64 years. He believes “[i]t is a main place for locals to go for quality Hawaiian food. From word of mouth, it does become a place that is not only shared with family and friends, but even tourists catch wind of Helena's.” His favorite dishes are Squid Luau, Butterfish, and the simple Tripe Stew. He truly thinks that “Helena's Hawaiian Food has been a staple to Oahu, the Kalihi community specifically for decades, and will hopefully continue for decades more and beyond.”
