Graduation Acceleration

• • Reconnect classes consists of self-paced online courses that are objective-focused and are aligned with TEKS for specific high school courses

  • High school classes completed in reconnect can be completed in 1 of 3 environments

    • During the instructional day: This option would have the student report to a reconnection room and complete course work as one of their 5 main classes a day

    • Zero Period: This option would have the student report to a reconnection room and complete course work before or after school. Ex. 8:00am - 8:55am or 4:45pm - 5:30pm

    • Summer session: This option would have students report to WT White during the summer to complete course work

• This "minimester," held between the end of the Fall semester and before the start of the Spring term, lets you earn up credit for some classes in just a few weeks.

• The Winter term class schedule fluctuates but typically lasts from mid-December through early January. Winter term course offerings are limited

• You may enroll in one class each Winter term.

• The purpose of Evening Academy is to provide an opportunity for all district students in grades 9-12 to earn credits for previously failed courses or to complete coursework for acceleration after school hours.

• It is held in person on WT White's campus every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

• Attendance is mandatory until the student has completed the course/s

  • • • Missing too many days could result in not receiving credit for the course

• General schedule for Evening Academy is

  • • • 5:00pm - 5:30pm = Dinner

      • 5:37pm - 7:37pm = Learning Block 1

      • 7:42pm - 8:42pm = Learning Block 2

• College level courses offered during the summer. Offered at either Brookhaven or through their online learning platform inet.

• Depending on the class, there are two types of classes

  • 10 Week Summer Session

    • 2022 Dates: June 6th - August 11th

  • Summer 1 (5 Week Session)

    • 2022 Dates: June 6th - July 8th

  • Summer 2 (5 Week Session)

    • 2022 Dates July 11th - August 11th

• The BTECH program offers certain high school classes with in person instruction during the summer

• In Summer Hub 2022 BTECH will offer Accelerated Geometry
