What is P-TECH?
Also known as Pathways in Technology Early College High School, (P-TECH) feature dual credit programs that allow students to earn a high school diploma and college credits while gaining experience in a range of high-demand careers. They will also be developing workplace skills through mentoring and internships with industry partners.
Students can earn a high school diploma, up to 60 hours of college credit, an associate degree, along with career experience earned via hands-on learning, mentoring, and internships. Thanks to an innovative partnership with Dallas College, the University of North Texas at Dallas and Texas A&M - Commerce at Dallas, this opportunity is being offered to thousands of students.
Enrollment Criteria
Woodrow Collegiate Academy is designed to serve incoming ninth-grade students who are:
Determined to attend college.
First Generation college students.
Historically, underrepresented in higher education.
The academy will accept up to 125 ninth-grade students per year, and students will move together as a cohort as they progress through high school.
Students will attend ninth and tenth grade at Woodrow Wilson High School in a dedicated wing of the building. For their junior and senior years, students will attend classes on the Dallas College Richland Campus. Transportation will be provided at no charge.
Application Process
Each year, beginning in November, Dallas ISD accepts applications to the district’s P-TECH, Early College, and Collegiate Academy programs. Students in eighth grade may complete and submit an online application for their top five choices. Following an interview process, accepted students are notified in March.
Collegiate Academy at Woodrow
Woodrow Wilson Collegiate Academy is one of the newest additions to Dallas ISD's Early College Programs. This premiere program provides students the opportunity to earn college credit and an Associate Degree at no cost. Partnering with The Dallas College Richland campus, the Collegiate Academy program at Woodrow Wilson prepares students to transition to a 4-year university of their choice after high school. At Woodrow Wilson Collegiate Academy students will take college level coursework leading to one of two degrees:
