No all is work. Every year our Advanced Social Sciences Cluster celebrates a potluck for our cluster students to mingle and get to know each other. In our Program we are a family and a safe environment for our kids to succeed.
CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION
NOVEMBER 18
Our Legal Studies program had the visit of Sydnee Thornburgh, a crime scene investigator from the Dallas Police Crime Scene Investigation Department. Students learn how to handle a crime scene, what to study to become one, and how the law applies when evidence is used in court.
Although Legal Studies organized this event, it also had the participation of our Government & Forensic Science students.
"SAY SOMETHING"
Sandy Hook Promise - Gun Safety Training
NOVEMBER 15
To improve security and ensure our students are in a secure environment, our students participated in the Sandy Hook Promise - Say Something training to report incidents that may lead to school shootings or others.

NOVEMBER 4
The University of North Texas at Dallas held its annual Law and Public Service Expo, featuring Criminal Justice and Public Service agencies and organizations. Almost every local law enforcement agency was present to share their career experience and demonstrate the latest equipment utilized in their department. There was a wide-range spectrum of careers represented at this event. Our students could also tour the campus as part of the event.
Community Service
OCTOBER 27
Our Legal Studies students participated in Skyline's Annual “Trunk or Treat” event for our friends from Guzick Elementary!
Skyline organizations gather on the T building parking lot (where the busses usually park), decorate their cars, and maybe have a fun activity, and have LOTS of candy to give our little munchkins.
OCTOBER 18
Legal Studies Program participated in the Dallas Bar Association Education Symposium, at the Dallas Art District Mansion, on October 18, 2022. As a result, our students had the opportunity to attend presentations on Cyber Security, Dallas Gang Unit Expert on Criminal Justice, and a Law School Panel with current students from SMU Dedman School of Law, UNT Dallas College of Law, and Texas A&M School of Law.
OCTOBER
Our Law Students' participated in our Skyline "Trick-or-Treat Tik Tok Challenge." The kids did a great job, landing in third place. It is a goal of our program to ensure our students are engaged with our school community.
Dallas ISD - Career and Technical Education Office has refurnished our classroom with new seating and tables.
As part of our College and Career Readiness goals, students in our Legal Studies Program now take classes in an auditorium-style classroom that reflects most of today's college classrooms set up.
Classes began, and so did students' collaboration and high expectations.
