8th Grade High School Readiness
Hello Awesome 8th Grade Parents & Students! Let's get you ready for high school!
Applications are open and will close January 31st!
What are endorsements?
Each 8th grade student in Dallas ISD is required to pick an endorsement to choose what kinds of classes they will be taking in high school depending on their interests and academic strengths. We begin and complete this process between November - January. Please click the links below to research and explore the endorsements Dallas ISD offers!

Choosing a High School/ Requirements
Students will get the opportunity to begin applying for high school programs beginning November 1st and ending January 31st. Students may apply to no more than two magnet programs and will be required to upload the following documents prior to submitting the application: most recent report card, most recent test scores, and proof of address. Students will be asked to rank their school selections in order of preference. The numeric ranks you assign to each of your school choices will be very important, as this information will determine which offer your student will receive After submitting the application, the school will be in touch with you to schedule an interview or audition if the student qualifies. All application submissions are virtual, not on paper!
This video walks you through the high school application process & has a short summary of each high school in the district. I highly recommend watching this video if you do not know which high school is a good fit for you/ need further information on where/ how to apply online.
