Context - Connections -    Language Proficiency

Language is a meaning-making process and is more than the words we speak and write, language also includes non-verbal communication. When implementing strategies and practices within the Tier I core program, it is important to consider context, connections, and varying levels of language proficiency. Students learn language in context, as needed for specific situations. Additionally, students learn new language when scaffolds are provided that allow students to bridge prior knowledge with new knowledge.
