Team Jaguar

Crankin' Out Awesome!

Team Jaguar is based on a model of education called Mastery-Based Education and Rocky Mountain Middle School was a pilot school for the Idaho Mastery Education Network (IMEN) and continues to be a leader throughout the state with regard to mastery-based education. In this model, students show evidence of mastery of a concept before moving to the next concept. Students create individualized learning plans with a teacher mentor to help them pace their learning progress. Team Jaguar covers the same district middle school standards guided by the Idaho State Content Standards in a different delivery model.

Team Jaguar is a collaborative, personalized, project/problem-based learning team, where teachers work as mentors, guiding students to learn through traditional and non-traditional methods.

Team Jaguar integrates technology into the daily learning environment in order to prepare for technology-based 21st Century jobs.

Team Jaguar combines interdisciplinary projects with student-paced learning modules and traditional classroom instruction. Students benefit from increased one-on-one teacher instruction, small group interventions as needed, and the ability to access content and project materials online at all times. To help us accomplish our task of offering mastery-based education, Team Jaguar utilizes a learning platform called a Learning Management System (or LMS) similar to Google Classroom, Canvas, Moodle, etc., called Summit Learning. You can find more information at Summit Learning's own website: summitlearning.org.

Team Jaguar is not an online learning environment. Learning activities are purposefully designed to promote human interaction.
