Teaching 5th grade at Franklin is truly my dream job, and I am delighted to be starting another school year! Although this year is starting in a very different way, I find myself having the same excitement I always do at the start of a new school year. I love teaching and have over ten years of experience teaching 3rd-6th grades in Arizona, Chicago and Park Ridge.

The northwest side of Chicago has always been home for me. I grew up in the North Center neighborhood and currently live in North Park. In between, I completed my bachelor's degree at Beloit College in Wisconsin where I double majored in history and classics. I also completed my master's at Northern Arizona University when my husband was stationed at the Marine Corps base in Yuma.

Although I hold middle school endorsements in math, social studies, and science, I love that by teaching 5th grade I get to teach multiple subjects every day! It’s hard to say which is my favorite subject because it always seems to be whatever I’m teaching, planning for, or thinking about in the moment!

When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my two young children, reading, baking, crafting, and spending as much time outside as I can!

I am very lucky to have met some of the students of 136 already but look forward to getting to know everyone much better this school year! We have some wonderful things planned and a lot of great learning to do!
