Meet Mrs. Pumo

This school year is my 21st year teaching. This is my sixteenth year at Roosevelt school. I have taught second grade, spanish and third grade. I spend most of my days with my husband and my three boys. Aithan is a freshman at Main South, Evan is a six grader at Emerson School and Mateo is a fourth grader at Carpenter. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and relaxing with a good book.

I love teaching students how to read, write and become problem solvers, thinkers, researchers, and life-long learners. I refer to our classroom as a "classroom family" because we help and care for each other, have fun and learn together just like a family does. It's important for me to get to know each student's interest and learning styles.

I am delighted that I have the chance to work with you this year, as we both play an important role in our student's life. I believe that our partnership together is crucial for the academic growth and success of our students. I will reach out to you throughout the school year through phone calls and emails, e-newsletters so we can establish and strengthen our working relationship. They are ways you can be involved in what your child is learning this year, some of them are reading together every evening and helping with the homework that reinforces the skills and strategies that are being taught. I am available to speak by phone or via email regarding any questions or concerns you may have.
