Hello AMAZING STEAM @ Tope Families,

Well, it has been a whirlwind of a week. I recognize that we are all (staff, students and families) trying to come to grips with the world around us. Living in ambiguity of the unknown creates a heavy weight on our shoulders… especially for our littles. I can’t even imagine what is going on in their little minds. Please take care of their little bodies, their little minds and their huge spirits.

REMOTE LEARNING begins OFFICIALLY on Monday, March 30th. Many of our students have already tapped into the learning!

Here are a few things you need to know!

We will honor current D51 expectations-

  • Three Math lessons per week and three ELA lessons per week are PRIORITY.

  • We will use this first week to connect, build, problem solve and grow together.

  • Initially, Primary (K-2) lessons will last in entirety 10-20 minutes per content in each content area for Math and ELA. ***

  • Initially, Intermediate (3-5) lessons will last in entirety 20-40 minutes per content in each content area for Math and ELA. ***

  • We will offer suggestions for DREAMBOX and LEXIA usage

  • PLEASE REMEMBER that we are offering "SUGGESTED" schedules with a full day of learning, you may adapt them as needed- please maintain the priority of ELA and MATH

  • We are offering a menu of learning opportunities that are optional

***Subject to change at any time.

How do I access remote learning?

  • A “Remote Learning” tab can be accessed via our Tope Website.

  • This tab will link you into our STEAM @ Tope Remote Learning Portal where you will find your child’s Google Classroom

  • We are currently working to link in additional parent supports on the Portal

  • If you are having technical difficulties, PLEASE CALL the Help Desk at 254-5175

How/Where do I find Colorado Academic Standards?

  1. Safety of students, staff and families

  2. Mental health and wellbeing of students, staff and families

  3. Academic delivery through remote learning

Remote Learning Collaborative Commitments~

We will honor the ambiguity for the unknown and remain empathetic for the unknown stressors that we are all feeling.

We will respect the capacity for differing abilities to manage a new reality including new roles and responsibilities. (job, loss of job, working from home, childcare and now homeschool)

We acknowledge that our learners have the capacity to grow and develop over time and that we cannot hold them accountable for catching up by overloading and overtaxing academic expectations while at home. Our stress and concern for their learning will not create additional stress and concern on our families.

Thank you for your support. Thank you for being a part of the Tope family. Hug those kids and let them know we miss them and love them!

Be Well,

Carrie Bollinger, Principal
