The House Burn Down on September 21, 2022 at Orchard Mesa Co. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office announced Friday that a deadly late-night house fire on Tuesday claimed the life of the only other resident, bringing the death toll from one to two.
Vivian Harris, a 71-year-old woman, and Kevin Wilson, a 57-year-old man, were both killed as a result of the fire. Harris was declared dead on-scene, Wilson died later at the hospital. Both lived in the home that caught fire. Sirens echoed through the valley last night as Grand Junction Fire raced to a house fire in Orchard Mesa that killed one person and injured another. The fire department says that its fire crews rushed to the scene to find a single-story home fully engulfed in flames. Some firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading to the surrounding houses and cars, while others worked with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office to evacuate neighboring homes. The coroner confirms that the fire caused both deaths, and ruled them as accidents. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is overseeing the ongoing investigation.
