One of the biggest decisions a student athlete can make is verbally committing to a college. The process is long and very difficult. A senior at Palisade High School, Josh Zotto, has made the decision to verbally commit to playing baseball at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling Colorado. Prior to committing to Northeastern, Josh was looking into many different colleges the main ones being the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and a college in Scottsdale Arizona. Even after looking at theses other colleges when asked what his main reason for choosing Northeastern was “They have a good arm program and it is going to cost a lot less than the other colleges.” Josh is a pitcher and center fielder for your Palisade Bulldogs. Though he plays both positions in high school he will be furthering his career as a pitcher at Northeastern. One of Josh’s teammates on his competitive team committed within a day of him commuting. “It was just kinda a coincidence that it happened, but it’s definitely cool to have him going there too.” Josh and Cam have played baseball on a travel team together since they were 8. When asked what he is most excited about going to college he replied “I’m excited to get out on my own instead of having my family there.” The thing he is not looking forward to is “Having to go to the dentist and doctor on his own.” Wish luck to josh as he continues his journey onto Northeastern Junior College and make sure when baseball rolls around you come out and support Josh and his teammates.
