On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, our boys soccer game was postponed due to Coal Ridge high school not having enough officials. Our soccer players had lost a chance to have fun and put all their effort into the game, and the chance of having a comeback since the start of this soccer season is off to a bumpy start. Nevertheless, our team will bounce back stronger than ever due to their teamwork and their incredible coaches.
In an interview with varsity player, Ronaldo Cordova stated, “I’ve got to meet a lot of freshmen and the upperclassmen are super fun to hang out with, so it’s just a great atmosphere,” The players have such a close relationship towards each other, and this is exactly what is needed to have a good functioning team. Ethan Burkes, a swing player playing on both JV and Varsity feels the same way as well, in an interview he said, “All the boys there are really supportive.”
When playing what you love, not thinking about anything else, and having fun while doing so, there's no better way to go about anything else. Both players have been playing soccer since they were 8 years old, devoting a lot of their time and hard work to this sport. And with this kind of love towards this sport, these boys as well as their coach have been working hard to progress forward and hopefully catch a few wins by the end of the season. These boys certainly do have the right mindset and attitude it takes for them to be a good hardworking team. There will be many more games to be looking forward to, and hopefully catching some wins along the way.
