Last Friday Eliza decided to go on a morning jog at 4:30 am, that would sadly be her last. During her jog she was forced into a dark-colored S.U.V by a man now charged with her disappearance and murder. His name is Mario Abston, charged with kidnapping in the past, making him serve 20 years in prison. Police found his DNA on a sandal of hers along with her phone at the crime scene. They went to his home, a car was there but he wasn't. When they finally got ahold of him he refused to tell them where she was. While looking for her the local station caught police leaving with a dumpster as part of their investigation. Not knowing why they decided to take it. Since Friday officials have been searching wooded and residential areas. Based on the evidence, officials believe she suffered serious injury.
The sad news was given to her family Monday afternoon. Police found Fletcher’s body in a vacant duplex apartment, they told the public Tuesday morning. I spoke with Clifton resident Gary Jacobs about this case, he said “I think the police handled the situation well and it is really sad news, I send prayers to her family” Eliza was a kindergarten teacher, an amazing mother, and an amazing woman, she will be missed by many.
