Why go to an expensive store and spend tons of money when you can reuse and recycle old clothes and items? You should go down to Chelsea’s Thrifty Shop. It is family owned and has tons of different things to add into your collection. It’s located in the Mesa Pointe plaza.
The shop has many different things to choose from including clothing, designer items, homecoming dresses, clothing for special events, jewelry, kitchen items, furniture, toys, and much more. I was given the chance to speak with the owner of the thrift shop, Chelsea Maruca. She said, "Thrifting is definitely environmentally friendly." I learned from Chelsea that running a business is a lot more work than expected and that going out for "source" is better to do in the winter. She does not take donations quite yet, she is still trying to figure that out. In the meantime she goes around to garage sales and other places for her products. She said “Running a business is scary, especially with the economy the way it is, you could lose everything.” Thrifting is becoming more and more popular each day. Because of this, more thrift stores are opening. This is a good thing because fast fashion is bad for the environment due to all the greenhouse gasses and the over manufacturing. Thrift stores give you a wide variety of clothes unlike other stores. That’s why you should stop by Chelsea’s thrift shop.
