The Palisade music department kicked off their season with their annual Fall Preview Concert on Tuesday the 27th.
The Fall Preview Concert displayed the Palisade choir, orchestra, jazz band, symphonic band, and the marching band. The purpose of the concert was to introduce to families all of the groups and content each music department will be doing. This is a great way to give family members a taste of what is yet to come. The concert was exciting, outstanding, and was full of Palisade spirit. Palisade senior, Averee Toft, performed in the marching band, choir, and symphonic band. Performing in three music departments can be quite the challenge, on top of sharing a first period between concert band and advanced women's choir. Averee said, “It’s a lot of content to learn, as well as a lot to balance, but it comes pretty easy for the most part.” Referring to the concert itself, Averee thought “....everything went really well.” She said, “All of our groups did an amazing job. Marching band was really loud, but I was happy with how everything went.” The librarian, Ms. Scroggins said, “There was so much energy throughout the whole thing. I really appreciated it.” What Averee enjoys the most is “....getting to make music with other people.” She proceeded to say, “Being able to share that is really cool, as well as really special.”
All of the groups did an amazing job on their performances. Be sure to come out and watch more of the Palisade performing arts talent.
