Volleyball

The volleyball team plays in Denver with a disappointing defeat.

This past Saturday, the Varsity and JV Lady Bulldogs traveled to Denver to play against some competitive and top-of-the-league teams. Varsity lost both their games and JV won one. They may have been unlucky this weekend, but what keeps them going is the memories they make. Grace McAnany, a sophomore on varsity says “I love the community, the group of people, and having something to work towards with goals.” She has been playing volleyball since middle school and has enjoyed playing since. Grace plays the middle position where she mostly spikes the ball, making sure it gets to the other side. Last year she played for the C team, this year she originally started on JV but was brought up to Varsity. Grace is an inspiration to show how the effort and work you put into something you love will help you get to where you want to be. All her practice and skills she took have helped her reach Varsity which is what she hoped for this year. The Bulldogs hope to go state again this year, but it all depends on how they play this Thursday on the 22nd against Glenwood. “If we win it we are in a pretty good position to be able to go to state,” Grace goes on to say. After losing one of their best hitters to a torn ACL, the team is trying to get back up and put everything they have left to get to state. Good luck Bulldogs!
