On Monday, September 19, 2022, Palisade High School's JV football team won a game against Grand Junction, with a score of 40- 34. With such a tight game, and our Palisade boys getting tired towards the second half, Junction had time to gain a comeback and almost take the win. Although our team did not let that slide.
In an interview with Caleb Johnson he stated, “We played pretty well, missing Caleb Reed though that was a huge part of our team. He just kinda gets us out of the tough spots, and gets us going again.” Caleb did not play due to an injury from another game.
A need for communication is definitely a skill that is going to be necessary for our team to improve, including understanding the plays better. Despite this our JV football season has been going well, with Grand Junction being their second win. Layne Ruppelius also believed this, “I feel it went pretty good, we definitely faught, it shouldn’t have been as close as it was though.” Caleb added on to this saying, “It was pretty good, towards the second half we kinda just got tired we didn’t have a lot of people.”
Our Palisade players will only continue to become better and improve in the areas that are necessary, and help our team become what they once were while bringing home more wins.
