This week for our athlete of the week we had the great opportunity to interview Jaden Ford. He is a freshman this year at Palisade and is already on the varsity team! Jaden as of right now only plays soccer but is thinking of trying track. We asked him what position he plays on the field, “I am a striker and a left mid. A striker is top of the field you just score goals pretty much, and left mid you’re on the sideline just running up and down.” We wanted to know why Jaden started playing soccer so we asked and he said, “My older brother did soccer and I just took after him.” We also asked Jaden what his biggest motivation was and he said, “To win.” We questioned him about his thoughts and how he wanted his team to play this season, “I want us to win as many games as possible, to do the best we can, just to work well as a team.” We asked what his team's biggest motivation was, “To go to state.” They have to win 7 games in order to make it to state. With being five games into the season and one win under their belt let’s all hope they stay motivated to reach their goal! We wanted to know about his relationship with the team, “As a team, we are all pretty close.” We asked his opinion on how his team has been performing in games, “We have been doing a lot better.” We asked about Jaden's life outside of school and his hobbies, “Outside of school, I am on a club team for soccer, Fire FC. It’s a travel team so we go to places like Denver and Phoenix to play. I like to skateboard and that’s pretty much it.” Jaden and the soccer team have one win so far and we all know and are rooting for them to win more. Make sure we show up to their games and cheer them on to show our school pride!
