Mesa County Libraries had their yearly Comic Con on Saturday, September 17th. The comic con included special guest, art contest, costume contest, panels, and many creators selling their designs. Palisade student Kairi Richardson stated, “The Comic Con was a lot of fun.I got to meet a lot of people with the same interest and was able to appreciate others' art.” Comic Con had basically everything there this year. Marvel, anime, cartoons, etc… Many people were there and helped bring life to this event. Many think you have to dress-up for events like this when you really don’t. You could go in regular clothes and just see what the people selling have to offer, you could even meet someone who is there as a special guest. You could even make new friends with the same interest as you. Mesa County Libraries had their first comic con in the Spring of 2015. Since then they have gotten over 5,000 new attendees from across Colorado. They are hoping that this comic con can turn into something bigger, and will be well known. You can even find rare items at the comic con like signed comics. These signed comics can be anywhere between $75 and $500. You could even win prizes. You could win them by entering in the drawing contest that is separated into age. The costume contests that are also separated by age, these contests also include a group category. So if you would like to dress up with your friends you’re in luck. Comic con allows others to meet new people with the same interest, next year consider going.
