A 22-Year-old man was killed in Clear Creek County, CO. He called looking for help the The only thing that came to him was violence. Christian Glass was just going on a regular drive through some back roads, he ended up getting his car stuck. Little did he know that calling 911 wasn’t going to help him. His parents stated “The fact that the deputy that killed our son is back on the streets without any consequence is a stain on Colorado and a threat to everyone in the State.” So what happened to Glass? Once the 2 officers showed up they asked Glass to get out of his car. Glass, who was more of a calm person and raised within a non-violent home, was surprised when the officers had the amount of force in their tone as they did. Therefore he was afraid to step out of his vehicle and refused to. According to CPR.org, “Within 78 minutes, the responding officers heightened the situation. They broke the windows, tased and shot him with bean bags.” Glass did have 2 knives in the car, when he offered to throw them out the officers refused. Olivia Talley, a Palisade student, stated, “I'm disappointed in the police, what made them think that it was justice.” Ultimately, Glass made a choice that caused his life. He picked up one of the knives, staying in the vehicle. His plan with it, who knows. But we do know that one of the 2 police officers shot him 5 times, ending his life. Glass was well-liked, he was a chef and artist, He lived within the boulder area, and went to normal classes. He was committing no crime, nor thought of committing a crime. All he wanted was help.
