A colossal shock came around the world on Thursday when the word went out that Queen Elizabeth had died. She was England's longest-living monarch ever. At the age of 96, The queen passed away. In less than a week, there have been hundreds of thousands of people who have gone and visited her coffin since her death. The new monarch is King Charles who became the King the same day the Queen died.
How will the Queen's Death affect the rest of the world? How will it affect The U.S.A.? What will happen now to England? Here are a couple of Palisade High School students' and teachers' thoughts on this situation. Mrs.Geis an English teacher at Palisade High School says “I think that is gonna be good because it is going to allow the new King to make some modern changes to the throne. One thing I heard him talk about is that the royal family was known as the “keepers of faith” in England because they are the head of the church in England but he is trying to change it to “ keepers of faiths” because he thinks its wrong to just have one faith and he feels it is not fairly representing all the people of England.” A Junior at palisade high school Sawyer Jacobson said “I know a lot of England is hurting right now because of her death.” He also said, “With how big of a role he just stepped up to I feel like the Queen isn't going to change too much because he wants to fill the shoes that the queen left behind and just keep everything pretty much the same just because of how high pressure of a job that is.” The whole world is ready to see what happens with the change in leadership and how the world changes because of it.
