Only 1 year since Red (Taylor’s version) was released and now fans are bracing for the next. This past Monday Taylor Swift announced the publishing of her 10th studio album, Midnights, which will be released on October 21st. Fans are elated at this news, but not surprised as it seems her albums have been releasing left and right making this her 5th studio album in 2 years.
I was lucky enough to talk to one huge Taylor Swift fan, Annika Fitzgerald, a freshman at Palisade. “I’ve been into Taylor since my mom gave me her old 1989 CD,” she explains, “I’m exhilarated about the new album, I’m so happy she’s releasing a new album so soon after her last ones.” She then began to explain what the album is about, saying, “It’s called Midnights, and it’s about 13 sleepless nights throughout her life. It’s a brand new album, it’s not a rerecording like Red or Fearless, and I’m really excited to listen to it.”
The news of her new album came right after she won the VMA’s Video of the Year with her music video All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version). During her speech she broadcasted there was going to be a new album, but didn’t officially talk about the content of it or the release date until Monday.
Whether you like or dislike Taylor’s music, there’s no denying her consistency with new catchy music and her ability to stay mainstream. This is definitely not the last time we’ll hear about a new release of Taylor’s music.
