Palisade boys golf is in full swing this season with many successes and struggles.
In the past weeks, our varsity boys have traveled from Cortez all the way to battlement mesa. This past monday, our top varsity players participated in a tournament at Bookcliff Country Club. Blake Hooker finished with the lowest score on the team, with 1 birdy and 6 pars he scored a 79 placing 23rd overall. When asked what does it feel like to have a round-altering hole Blake Hooker answered “It's pretty cool, having the clear-headed point in the round to where you know you have the skill and ability to play well and can actually put your round together.”
The three other boys that participated in the Bookcliff tournament worked hard to overcome the tough course. Alex Morrall placed 30th with a score of 83, Ian Allen placed 40th with a score of 87, and Joe Morgan placed 45th with a score of 88.
While the varsity boys work hard out on the course our J.V. boys continue to bond and improve their skills. When asked his favorite thing about the sport of golf Brady Fenton replied “My favorite thing about golf is definitely the struggle and learning how to overcome this new struggle I have encountered.”
With three weeks left in the season, we expect to see great things from the boys. Next Monday they are off to play at Tiara Rado Golf Club.
