This weekend lacrosse players from our school played their first scrimmage of the season. Many girls from Palisade are members of Junction’s lacrosse team. On Saturday at Canyon View, both JV and Varsity played 2 games. Both games went well for the girls. Girls lacrosse has yet to figure out their roster and will know by the end of this week. The scrimmages were most likely to help their coach see where they wanted to put people and how they play under pressure and in a real game-like situation. Freshman lacrosse player Olivia Talley stated, “The scrimmages went well despite going against some very experienced teams.” Last year the girl's lacrosse team had 6 wins and 2 losses in the league, but including their non-league games, they won 6 losses 10. This season's lineup looks promising, props to these girls for working hard and seeing the outcome they want. Lacrosse is one of the most difficult sports and is not as easy compared to others. Their first game is a non-league away game against Eagle Valley this Saturday. Their first official league game will be a home game next Thursday against Telluride. They have been working hard to get where they are today and will hopefully get the outcome they deserve. Many people look past the fact of how difficult this sport is and how important it is for some of these girls. Let's root for the girls from our school that are going to play this spring, may they have all our support. Let's go Bulldogs!
