This week we were honored to interview the seniors from the girls basketball team. Ally Seriani and Lindsay Inman have had a great last year of high school basketball. The girls were asked how they feel their season went overall. Lindsay replied, “I feel like the season went really well. There were definitely some things that we could have improved on and some things that we could have done differently, but overall I feel we had a pretty good season.” Ally added, “I think it was pretty good. Obviously we didn’t do amazing according to stats, but I think with a new coach who came in we handled it very well. We really enjoyed the season and that is what’s important.” Going into what some of their favorite memories were from the season, Lindsay responded, “For me it was just making friends in general. I liked getting to know the younger players and having fun with them.” Ally said, “One of my favorite memories from the season was when I walked in on my first day of tryouts. It was the beginning of the season for me because I had had a later tryout. One of my friends was just excited to see me there. So I feel like the positivity always created the best memories.” Considering their strengths as a team Lindsay said, “I feel like we were very supportive of each other. No matter what, we always had each other's back, and that is what you need most in a team.” From freshman year up to their senior year, Ally and Lindsay have experienced so much. After they were asked what they are going to miss the most Ally replied with, “I am going to miss the environment. There is just something about stepping out on the court during a Friday night game. It is like a hometown feeling.” Lindsay added, “I am going to miss the adrenaline rush. I don’t like running, but I for sure like the adrenaline, as well as the emotions and going through everything all at once.” Lastly, the girls were asked what advice they would give to an incoming freshman athlete. Ally replied, “Don’t get discouraged. Keep pushing through the hard times, because in the end it is going to be worth it.” Lindsay added, “In your time definitely work out during the off season. It shows that you are committed and it shows that you want to be there.”
Both of these girls have had a great four years as a Palisade Bulldog with so much more ahead of them. Wish them luck as they finish out the semester strong.
