Many seniors who applied for colleges in the fall of 2022 and in the winter of 2023 have received admission acceptance letters, but have they applied for scholarships to pay for college?
As we move into the last months of your senior year you are encouraged to go into the senior class in Schoology and apply for the local scholarships that you qualify for before it is too late. Along with scholarships, there are forms to fill out to receive grants and assistance paying. All students remember to fill out their FAFSA forms and apply for the COF fund in the Schoology folder.
After getting a scholarship you need to make sure your school is ready for you. “The next step would be to do housing, finish their FAFSA, start looking at scholarships, and meet with admissions counselors and find out how they need to register for classes.” Our College guidance counselor has been a great help to all of us seniors.
With this year being Mrs. Salvia’s first year at Palisade, she has done an excellent job creating relationships and helping support all students at Palisade High School. “My first year is going great. It’s been so great being able to make relationships with my students and prepare them for their future. Seeing that they can go so much further in life than just high school is so fun.”
Seniors remember to finish up all applications for scholarships, finish your FAFSA forms, and don’t forget to stop by Mrs. Salvia's office and give her a huge thanks for the support she has given to you and your fellow classmates.
