Multiple students from the wrestling teams here at palisade had the opportunity to go to state and perform. Two wrestlers, Keyton Young and Laylah Casto ended up placing. Young had a fantastic performance and ended by placing 3rd for the 118 eight class. Casto also had a fantastic performance and ended up being 5th. Freshman wrestler Violet Gray stated, “It’s awesome being around such amazing athletes.” Our bulldogs had an outstanding performance at state, and hopefully next year we will dominate once again. As a first-year head coach here at palisade Bill Troutwine impressed everyone with his coaching. He has been involved with wrestling for nearly 20 years. We are lucky to have such an opportunity, and such an amazing team of athletes. The state wrestling tournament was in Ball Arena, Denver. Which is home to the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and the Colorado Mammoth. Our bulldogs worked hard to get to state and worked even harder when they were there. Palisade should be proud. Gray said, “It’s a great opportunity for everyone.” Going to state is no joke, especially when you're playing such a difficult sport and an individual one at that. Hopefully next year we will have the same outcome or even a better one. If the team keeps growing and getting better and stronger us bulldogs will be unstoppable. The harder we work and the more practice the better we will get. Congratulations to those who were able to go to state this year hopefully, next wrestling season us bulldogs will dominate even more. Go Bulldogs!!
